Tmobile billing question

I ended my service with tmobile and moved to a different carrier because I wanted the 8330 and got the number ported to this carrier. My billing cycle ends on the 14th and I called on the 12th and confirmed the termination of my service. I asked if I had a balance and was told no. I received a call from tmobile today saying that I owed $81 (which was my normal monthly charge). Now when I ended my service, my balance was zero. Anyone have any information I can go on. I thought I was doing the right thing by calling and confirming my cancelation and zero balance due.
