Crimsom Red faceplate install procedure for Blackberry Curve
Please Login to Remove!
A little story here... I saw the crimson red Curve that AT&T had and really lusted over that phone. But, I've been with T-Mobile for 7 years now and they only had the titanium one... and I didn't want to switch carriers just for that reason, so I decided to get a crimson red faceplace from cnn.cn and solve my little problem that way.
I have yet to find a photo essay on doing a faceplate on a BB Curve, so I made one! Yes, there is YouTube, but not everybody likes YouTube… me for one. I prefer a good website with still photo’s with “written” instructions. Some of us like myself can’t hear, (legally deaf) so video’s doesn’t always work… hence this website with instruction on taking off and putting on a faceplate for a BlackBerry Curve. You can do like I did… use YoutTube to get an idea and then this guide for details.
Here is my guide:
Crimsom Red faceplate install procedure for Blackberry Curve
If I see any corrections that need to be made, I'll make them. Input is appreciated.

That was nice, thanks.
So, can you get the back plate and bottom plate(with the T-Mo, ATT etc logo on it) in Crimson too?
Can you link what you mean by a pry tool?
Thanks again!

Yes they make the matching back plate & bottom plate. I chose just to do the front. I like the silver/red combo.
Here is what a pry tool looks like. There are others.

I got mine from cnn.cn Cellular Accessories - Nokia, Panasonic, Motorola, BlackBerry, Accessories Store, SonyEricsson, LG, 3G,
My only complaint is they're in Hong Kong and it took 19 days to get to me in Tacoma, WA
Also, the 8300, 8310 & 8320 all fit the same.

Paint that part black to match the black around the screen. Or paint it Crimson Red. It's small and easy to paint.

I would keep checking cnn.cn for updates. Also, you could buy a dummy 8310 off eBay. You may be able to remove the keyboard from there.

One more tip that I will add to that guide is this. When you order the faceplate, also order the Prying Tool. Most companies like cnn.cn will carry the tool too. It's only around $2-3. I really recommend you get that tool. If you use any other tool, like a screwdriver, credit card or guitar pick, you might damage the phone. I almost did and it wouldn't have been cheap to fix. Plus the fact the tool will make it easier to do too.

You can get them all day on ebay. I would think silver would look good on black... it would set off that black.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm going to go to the post office tomorrow (too bad it isn't open on Monday) to pick up my crimson housing. I'm changing the silver 8300 housing. I'm so nervous, I'll be shaking in my boots. Thanks for the written tutorial!
