Default problems with google maps

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Is anyone having problems with the new google maps for the Pearl? I downloaded it today, and when I try to start it up I get the following message:

"The application gmaps8100_v4_1_L1 is attempting to change device settings. Would you like to allow this?"

Then, no matter what I push (yes or no), it gets stuck in an endless loop of asking the same question over and over again. It never actually gets in to google maps. Eventually I have to power down the phone to get it out of the loop.

Side note, I had to update to the latest OS for the pearl today because I was one of the people who was experiencing the browser disappearing. Once I got the web browser back up and running, google maps didn't work. I tried uninstalling it, then downloading the latest version of gmaps, and the same error is there.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Please help, this was one of my favorite and most used apps! (Sorry if this topic has already been discussed, I searched the archive but didn't see anything similar.)

Regards,
Matt

main menu / options / advanced options / applications / scroll to "google maps" and press the menu key / edit permissions /

connections = allow
interactions = allow
user data = deny

That should fix the endless loop problem in gmaps.

I don't have at&t, so I'm not sure about the medianet problem, but I'd try resending the service books.
