Question No Edge in Los Angeles?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I am a new 8700g owner and also new to the forums. I am on the T-Mobile network and am located in Downtown Los Angeles.

My previous phone was a SK2 which, while a decent device, was in the end not for me. I am learning to really love and appreciate my new BB, but I am growing concerned about its data speeds.

It is slow. As slow browsing as my old SK2 (if not slower at times). I had recently heard from a friend that there is no EDGE support in Los Angeles, but I definitely see "EDGE" listed on the screen. Another possibility I thought maybe my SIM was so old it is not properly compatible with the newer technology setups.

So my questions are:

-1. Is there full EDGE support in Los Angeles?
-2. How can I check my data speeds?
-3. What can I do to make my data faster for things like browsing?

TIA

Based on the coverage map of T-Mobile, I can see their EDGE coverage; throughout the LA basin is truly limited. This is especially true with regards to their data roaming agreements.
Regards,
