Default Getting a Storm Unlocked

Please Login to Remove!

I have a storm that i bought off someone for 175$ i was hoping to replace my scratched up storm but now the MEDI says its stolen so it cant b used...

Cant i try to get it unlocked?

If verizon gives me an unlock code for my original storm is it specific to a single blackberry storm or it can be used on the storm i just bought?

EDIT

Will horizonwireless still unlock it?

Unlock codes are specific to each Blackberry. They can't be used on any other one.

Also, once the IMEI/ESN/PIN/what-have-you of a Blackberry is blacklisted as lost or stolen, I don't think it can be activated for data service.

The idea that it was stolen didn't cross my mind since the price was so good i thought i had nothing to lose. Hopefully i can get my money back. =/

Unfortunately, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

I believe there are some Storms for sale in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum on here. You might want to check those out.

I'm going to try and talk to this guy first... I'm expecting him to give me a hard time though.

Hard time? Let see, give me my money back you sold me stolen property. My next call will be the police, your choice.

How could you expect a $175 storm to not be stolen?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8320)

I have the same problem with a 8320, I bought it in Miami and when I activayte the BB inmediately begin to receive mail from the old user, I've contacted by email and she told that she returned the phone because was broken, I discovered that the backlight of the keyboard don't work, I returned to the store and get a new 8320 (I hope it)

Your cell provider sold you a returned phone that was malfunctioning? Ouch, man would I be angry.
