Default Wi-Fi Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I just purchased a Blackberry curve 8320 Unlocked from ebay and everytime I go to search for Wi-fi networks It says "No networks Found" I've searched these forums and tryed different things, I have all the right settings set on the phone, (so I think) I've tryed to hard reset it. Still have the same problem. I'm trying to connect to my appartment complexes' free wifi, and I can't connect anywhere. Not even at other free wi-fi places.. Im just at a loss. If anyone could give me any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. I know this Is a repeat question but I tried everything mentioned that I have read and have not even had 1 network pop up..

Ps. I have no BB Data Plan.

Thankyou.

Anthony.

ATT requires a BB data plan before pushing the WiFi service book. Hence, no WiFi without a BB data plan.

Also, be aware that ATT does frequent network IMEI scans and if it finds a device which requires a data plan, one will be added to your account.

Thanks for the reply Dubdub. when I go to options on my BB, then to the service books menu I see 2 Wifi service books. I need other ones? Do you think I could buy the data plan for the service books and then cancel It? would I still have the service books?

You could try, but AT&T requires that you have one anyway. Might let you get away with it but not for long.

Those could be old service books and not useful for AT&T. Hard to tell.
