After hearing about it for several months, Ive finally found VOICE CONTROL for my BB-7520. It was released today on mobilevoicecontrol.com. You can download a trial version and be able to say "Call so and so" Bingo its done. I can say Add appointment bla bla bla or Short email and its all voice activated. Nothing to set up, its all done for you when you DL. Ive had it for 10 hours now and it works perfect.
Are there any hardware limitations in the 7250 that would prevent this from being ported to this model in the future? Seems to be availabel only for nextel on the 7520.
For what its worth I just e-mailed Voice Control and asked if the reason for Nextel phones right now was because of their push to talk ability and this is the response I got from them a few minutes ago:
While we are not using push-to-talk, we are using their Direct TCP and audio features built into the Motorola chipset that are only available on their device. We are evaluating another model for non-Nextel devices that we may implement if the market moves us that way.
We are in the final stages of a Treo version and a Windows 2003 Smartphone version.
That's probably because of the processing power required and it's being lacking in the handheld. That explains the small download. Let's hope with the 8700c they create an installed version (I also wondered about the $5.99 price. It seemed cheap for this capability.
Another cool feature shown to me by tech support at MVC was Not to say "Send Email" to say Send SMS to So and So, give the body of the message and presto they get a Text message from you.
PS Dawg looks like we got off on the wrong foot, AJPB1 sends you an olive branch.
I was at the SF Blackberry 8700 unveiling and I spoke with numerous folks from RIM and Cingular. Not one of them had heard of this software or company. They have missed a big opportunity in their marketing department. I was telling the COO of RIM what a buz this product was creating on the Internet and that they needed to check it out.
