Arrow HELP > State DB for 2 users corrupted after SP5 upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

I have two state DB's that have become corrupted after upgrading to SP5. I've run fixup, updall and compact on the DB's in question.

I'm in a Lotus Domino/Notes 7, BES 4.1.5 Environment

Every minute-and-a-half I recieve the following errors for 2 users:

i)
SyncFolderList (user x/Server) can not syncronize folder view with legacy folder list (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

ii)
SetLastAccessDate failed for user x/Server (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

iii)
UnreadMarks::Init - Failed to find user info note (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

When I look at the two users' State DB's in Notes, they are missing their "User Info" and "UnreadMarksTable" attachment.

I've thought to Rebuild the Folder Structure for the State DB (KB 11664) or just kill the user and re-activate.

What are my options? Overall the upgrade went smoothly, 2 out of 21 users corrupted ain't bad.

You've kinda listed your own options there to be honest!

The easiest "fix" is to delete the users from BES, wait for profile and state databases to clear, then re-add and reconfigure, then reactivate BBs.

The downside to this is that you might lose any backed up information and things such as browser favourites. You can probably get round this by backing up the device on Desktop Manager and restoring the data that you want, or reactivating the device with data on it.

In terms of fixing the state DB, there is a limit to what you can do. Fixup, updall, compact etc. Also there have been issues where deleting replication conflicts and/or blank rows from certain views help. However, if you are missing data like "User Info" I am afraid I don't know of a 'safe' way to regenerate that data in an existing state DB. That's not to say there ISN'T a way, just that I don't know of one!

Remove and re-add the user will be the last thing I will do. I will first try to refresh the design of the state database first since it is a view related problem with "legacy". The state databases may still in prior 4.1.5 design and BES complains. Just run the Design task in Domino.

I would make sure all the BES dbs are using the latest design.

Where/what is the "UnreadMarksTable" - cannot see this in my state DB, even though my unread marks reconcile?

We have had similar corruption issues. None related to an upgrade as we have not yet gone to 4.1.5. Here is what has worked for us.

-create a new policy that disables wireless message reconcilation.
-send policy to user
-verify it has been applied successfully
-open the state DB
-delete all entries in the user info folder
-delete all entries in the mail folders folder
-assign users normal policy
-once it has been applied successfully you should be able to refresh the state db(F9) and everything should be working. everything gets recreated.

hope this helps.
