Hi,
My 8100 Pearl was bought from T-Mobile in the US, but I am using it with Vodafone in Australia; if I want to update my phone OS, do I have to update my OS from T-Mobile? I've tried updating from the official BB (for Vodafone Australia/Fiji) site but to no avail...I have Desktop Manager 4.7 and everytime I connect my phone into it to update, it says that I have the latest software, which I know isn't true (it's 4.21.107). I've searched around and there's a fair bit of info saying that I should delete vendor.xml from C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\apploader, but this directory doesn't exist for me...

If anyone could shed some light on my plight, that'd be great!

You can upgrade using the instructions and download in this link, to the latest release of 4.5 OS:

Follow the instructions just as written, using the downloaded OS file.

Do a complete backup of your device first, using DM.

lol, I just realised I was looking in the wrong spot for the apploader folder...that was a clumsy mistake on my part. Thanks for the help and patience! *facepalm at self*
