I did a search and didn't find anything or my search wasn't good enough. Here is my question. I have the 8530 Curve and while the phone charges the backlight is on the whole time. I don't remember this happening with any of my other BB's so I was wondering how do you shut that off if you can.

If you put the phone into the standby mode (by pressing and holding the play shortcut key at the top), the screen will stay dark while charging. In that mode the phone charges super-fast (full charge in about an hour).

Also, make sure that you have the bedside mode options set correctly. Go to Clock => Options => select "When Charging" drop-down menu and select "Do Nothing"
