Default Mix and Match Rom Version

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

First of all, this site totally rocks! Secondly, heres my issue:

I recently purchased an unlocked Curve 8300, that was locked to the AT&T network. I unlocked it and now am using it with the T-Mobile network. Everything is working great. It really is a fantastic phone. I just upgraded from the HP IPAQ 6940, and the only thing I really miss is the wifi and GPS. Maybe I'll upgrade to the 8320? Anyways back to the issue. The only thing that I am now in need of is the T-Mobile Rom for the curve. The only problem is that T-mobile has the 8310 rom.

Can I install the rom for the T-Mobile 8310, on my AT&T 8300?

Thanks,
Scott

I think by rom you mean OS? Please correct me if I'm wrong though. If you're referring to the OS you cant install OS for an 8310 device onto a 8300? Why do you need the TMO OS?

Thanks for the info. I needed the ROM because it contains the T-mobile Instant Messenger App that uses AIM, right?

Ah - Nope you should have that pushed to you via service books. That app shouldn't be OS dependant.

Sweet. I'll contact T-Mobile right now and see if they can push it. Is there a way for me to push it myself?

Yes either from your BIS page or you can by registering the top 3 entries on your Host Routing table.

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table.

Click the three top entries and choose 'Register' one at a time.

This SHOULD bring that application back.

If not you should definitely contact TMO then.
