Question Full DC# doesn't work, but using only last 2 numbers does - SOLVED!!!

Please Login to Remove!

OK, check this out. Hopefully I can explain this right...

Say user 1 has DC#111*111111*01

I have him in my contacts using that DC#, but I constantly get "User Anavailable." However, if I go to the phone icon, and type in "01" (the last 2 number in the DC#), then DC works fine. AND, it registers the call with the full DC#!!! As soon as the DC disconnects, then trying to ALERT using the same DC# that the blackberry registers, I get the "User Unavailable" again. I have to use the last 2 number "trick" to be able to DC this user.

It doesn't matter between users with the 7510 or the 7520. Weird, huh?

If anyone has a solution to this, please email me at [email address].

Thanks!

What happens if you dial the full dc number from the phone screen? I saw something like this once, the only way I could fix it was delete that contact from the phone and outlook and recreate it.
This happened to me after moving from bes 3.6 to bes 4

Default Solved!!!

UPDATE!!!

The user on the 7520 had some 3rd party GPS program called Telnav. He was testing the application on his BB. Since he was the only one experiencing the problem, AND he was the only one testing the Telnav GPS, we had told him to remove the software from his BB. Once he did that, the ALERTS started working again.

Hope this helps anyone else out there having this problem.

Okay, but I use Telenav all the time on my 7520 and I'm reachable by anyone using DC. Does he have the same digits as your other users in the xxx-xxxxxx- part of his DC number? Is it possible there's some restriction on his Nextel setup that doesn't let him DC to anything other than his own "subnet" (for lack of a better word).

Back in the early Nextel days I'm pretty sure the xxx-xxxxxx part of the number was the same for everyone on a given corporate account, and then each person had their own 01, 02, 03, whatever for the last few digits. This may have changed, but it's just an idea.
