Hi, I am trying to create an application that will closed the first application in the switch application menu. Basically it will close the top most application that sent to the background by return key.

I am trying to use the

ApplicationManager manager = ApplicationManager.getApplicationManager();
ApplicationDescriptor descriptors[] = manager.getVisibleApplications();

String appname1 = descriptors[0].getName(); 
- example code:

But this always return only an descriptors[] array of size one.

So how can i get hold of the items in Switch Application Menu. I researched around and found that i cannot get access to SwitchMenuClass itself so is there any way to get hold of the application name or process id contained in the SwitchMenu item list.

You cannot close another application using the app descriptor.

Having said that, there is nothing wrong with your code, it should show you all of the "running" apps.

Have you tried starting a few?
