Default Current OS?

So is 5.0.0.405 the most current OS for AT&T? Also when I do a wireless update it says Firmware Udate, and below it it says Requesting Available Updates, and it will set there for a few and say Update complete or whatever, and then goes back to requesting updates and just sits there. Not sure whats going on with it. Is this normal?

No that is not normal. I would first try upgrading via DM. This way will also save you on memory as the OTA does consume whatever size the download is. Though that can be recovered by deleting, its always a more stable way of upgrading.

Yes, it's normal. There isn't anything for you to update to.

5.0.0.680 is by far the best/newest release for any carrier including AT&T.

It hasn't been released by AT&T, so you can't update to it OTA, which is what the OP is asking about.
Please try to keep up.
