Default gmail mobile: unable to download attachments?

Please Login to Remove!

I use my blackberry mainly for work on BES but I would also like to have my personal gmail account available. I get a hundred or so emails a day for my work so I don't really like that I can't keep my work email and my gmail email seperated from the main messages bucket.

I don't mind using gmail mobile instead of having the address set up on my blackberry but I just realized that it doesn't seem to allow me to download photos from gmail mobile to my device which is a major issue since my wife often sends me pictures of my daughter.

So I'm looking to you power users to find out how you may have handled similar situations.

Thanks

I have been using the gmail mobile app since it came out and I have always been able to download images. Whether to view them from the e-mail or save them to the device or a sd card.

I would suggest removing the application, pulling the battery, then reinstall the application and see what happens.

Normally when there is an attachment, I would get an option to view.

My wife has an iphone. she sends me a photo and it shows up as a link that says "photo.jpg".

I click on the menu button and I get the option to view attachment. It opens up and I can see the photo, but then I have no option to save it to my device, or anywhere for that matter.

Do you see the save option after you click the menu button again in gmail mobile?

Oooohhh, sorry, no. There is none that I have seen. I hope in the next update they add that feature as well as the ability to add attachments from the device.

I must apologise, it has become such the norm for me that I didn't realise what I was saying. What I would normally do if there is an attachment that I want to save is to forward it to my corporate account and then download it.

I do this so often, that I thought I was able to actually download.

My bad.

ahh, thank you for the clarification. I thought I was missing something. Thanks for trying to help though. I think I'll just convince my wife to add my blackberry address (which I don't use at all) to my contact on her phone and use that to send photos.
