Default Pearl 2 just a sidestep?

Please Login to Remove!

Talking to my T-MO sales rep (in person and not via phone) he adviced me to get the Curve with WI-FI that is coming for T-MO he said to me that with the OS update 4.2.1.107 for the 8100 the Pearl only difference with the Komet is the camera (1.3mp vs 2 or 3.2mp) , the external memory card slot and the headset jack. T-Mo is gonna bring the device but it will not be a priority ala Curve

He told me that the Curve is a whole new device and the Komet is an enhancement upgrade... What do you guys think? Curve or wait for the Komet?

I do not care for full keyboard or suretype...

I agree...the new Pearl will have a newer OS and the enhancements you mentioned. The Curve is a new device for TMo but it's not a new device. The TMo release will have the wifi and that will be new. It all depends on what your preference is. I want to try both....

I'll be picking up the Komet as well as the Curve when it is released. At the moment I'm running two Pearls.. so having different devices, plus having the fun with a new BlackBerry (and the WiFi!) is what I'm aiming for.

I just bought the Nokia 6086 so I could start to use my hotspot@home service from T-Mo. [I signed up for it now because T-Mo is raising the price to $20 monthly, in September. Price is currently $10]. Luckily I got the Nokia for super cheep on fleaBay, for about $ 117 shipped, whereas T-Mo stopped carrying it and elsewhere on fleabay it was $150 or more.

But I want a BlackBerry with WiFi [for hotspot use], so it looks like I too will be buying the Curve. I thought the Pearl 2 was going to have WiFi, but must have misread something. Besides, I read on a tech site that they can't fit WiFi, GPS and other features into the Pearl's small form factor. Is that true?

I have to say that phone looks sweet.

And I could swear when I was in a T-Mo corporate store last week I saw the Curve on display. Maybe it was something else I was looking at, but I don't think so. It had the qwerty keyboard, silver front, etc.

If it was the Curve have to say it was nice. Small, light, thin, cool looking.
