Hello

I've been syncing my 8520 with Outlook 2007 for months now without any problem.

But all of a sudden, I'm getting those funny characters (file attached.)

Has someone seen this and knows what to do about it?

I wanted to hard reset the 8520 so as to force the BB Desktop Manager to resync Outlook -> BB. Articles on the Net keep mentioning "Options > Security > Security Wipe", but my 8520 has Options > Security Options > Memory Cleaning > Enable > Clean when holstered/idle etc.

How can I remove all data from the 8520, possibly keeping applications?

I think the path to wipe is different depending on OS version. Which version are you running?

Found how to get to the Wipe option: Options > Security Options > General Settings > menu button > Wipe Handheld

The funny characters seem to come from an add-in I use in Outlook (Agendus). No idea why they showed up all of a sudden.

The only way I found to wipe the 8520 clean, remove those characters in Contacts in Outlook through its native UI and Agendus', and resync.
