Hi all.
I just took over duties of managing 2 production BES and 1 prod/testing BES both 4.1.6.

I just checked the log directory for bes01 and noticed that it has the following:

20090510
20090511
20090512
20090513
20090514
20090527
20090528
20090529
20090530

I'm missing logs from 20090515 to 20090526!
Furthermore, in the log directories before the missing logs I have a complete set of logs for the CTRL, DISP, ROUT,etc. After the 20090514 log file all I get is the MNGR logs.

I checked the logging settings in the Blackberry Server Configuration but logging is enabled and the settings to seem to be 'default'...

-> while on that, anyone know where the settings in the BSC are stored? I dont think they are stored in the DB? Probably on the server?


Any Ideas?

Log settings are in the BlackBerry Server Configuration application. If the log directories are missing it seems like someone deleted them...

Ya, that's what I figured too, someone deleted them.

But, that doesn't explain why since whatever happened, I'm no longer getting a complete set of logs. I only get the MNGR logs. I used to get all the logs. I checked in the bsc and logging seems to be enabled for all components.

Is log file purging set within the BlackBerry Server Configuration application?

You mean, autoroll? logs are set to 7 days no autoroll.

I found the missing logs. It seems as though BES mangler decided to start putting the logs in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs rather than the path specified in BSC D:\Logs\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs\ ? WEIRD.

I'm going to stop/restart the services on the BES for the hotfix install tonight, see if that fixes it.
