Hi everyone,

This is a general query for information, in preperation for installing BES5 HA in a brand new Exchange 2007 SP2 environment (UK Based).

I anticipate that when I install BES, many of the expected 1000 BES users will want access to numerous other Outlook\personal accounts from their BB handheld (HH).

So, apart from accessing their activated BES account and receiving emails into "messages" on the HH, what is the best method for receiving emails from multiple other accounts?

1)If the answer is to use BIS and OWA, where do all these Emails go to on the HH?
2)Would they all appear in the "messages" folder?
3)If the latter, are their plans in place for RIM to allow for redirecting "non-BES" emails to another BB HH Email applet or something like that?
4)How many BIS accounts can be configured for a HH simultaneously?
5)What are the limitations of "BIS via OWA" versus BES?
6)Is there any reason why certain users would choose an "IMAP" connection rather than "OWA" via BIS (Some people still do it it seems from what I have been reading)?
7)Do you get the BIS "plan" when you buy "BES"

If you can answer any of these questions or point me to some blogs\literature I would greatly appreciate it.

1. They go into the 'Messages' icon, as well as their own individual icon for the BIS account.
2. Yes.
3. Sorta. Each BIS account already has its own messaging icon. If you want your users to have a separate icon for their BES messages, then you can enable 'Enterprise-Only' message icon on the BES. 5. Way too many to list. Primary deficiency is lack of wireless PIM sync for BIS.
6. No reason other than OWA might not be available for the user.
7. Yes, the BES data plan includes BIS.

ALL messages of any kind including BES and BIS email go into the MESSAGES folder.
BES mails only go in to the Messages folder.
You can implement a change on the server to create an icon for BES mail, (no idea how) that way, one could hide the MESSAGES folder and use the individual mailbox icons for BIS, and the BES mailbox icon for BES.

7. Yes. BIS is only BIS, BES is a BES and BIS plan.
