For my needs, a skin of some sort would be better protection for me. I never wear a holster or a pouch, usually my phone is in my pocket.

I like the color blue and that's the only one I found like it.

RIM has several cases which do not have clips (so you can pocket it) and also have the magnet to put the phone into standby.

I have a holster from RIM which has the clip and magnet and I found that it increased my battery life significantly. I tried a rubber skin before that and I found that it was hard to remove from my pocket.
