Default Retrieving EMail on Storm

Please Login to Remove!

I have tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything that matches what I'm after so forgive me if I have missed something.

I have a web account with 1and1 and I'm hoping I could pull my emails down to my Storm without using anything else. Any suggestions/ideas on how I can achieve this please?

Kind regards,
Mav

Yes, but I want it to pull down a specific email account hopefully without using a different service.

I can't use auto forwarding either as I cannot allow my main desktop to be switched on all day long.

you simply need to know your mail server, username, and password. the setup wizard will try to figure out your mail server for you when you put in your email address. im not sure where you could get lost. enter your email address, username, password, and let it do the rest.

so youve had a bb this whole time and have not been using it for email? why did you get it?

I have literally had it 4 days now but haven't had a chance to sit down properly and set it all up.

Going through the email wizard, I sign into BIS and provide my email address and password I want to add to the account. After a while processing, it says it cannot set it up and provides me with 2 options. Either re enter the details or to provide the details manually.

I choose set it up manually and select personal account and said I already have the account set up on Outlook 2007.

I then get a screen saying the BB Internet Service couldn't configure the email account and gives me 3 options:

1) follow the instructions set by my service provider
2) provide the settings
3) click next to add or view email accounts

I select option 2 and in the email server part, I add the Incoming Mail Server address (is this correct?).

It then comes up saying unable to add account.

Ignore me, I'm a chump with fat thumbs. Got it working now.

P.S. do they do magic wands for people like me with big hands?

I have 1and1.. Very easy..

Since the blackberry cant auto config the settings for this server, you have to do it manually.

go to email setup.
type your email name and password than let it do its stuff..

it will come back that it needs more infomation.

in the server name type pop.1and1.com

dont forget to re type your user names in the other fields..

thats it..
