Default Powerstation Cradle for blackberry bold

Please Login to Remove!

i want to get a good desktop charging station (no interest in spare battery stuff). i see oem charging pods already at amazon.com but today at rim.com i saw this new Powerstation Cradle that appears to be unavailable before 11-25-2008. it looked neater and cleaner and i'm thinking about waiting for it. wondered if anyone else looked at it and formed any thoughts... regards, bt

This appears to be just the cradle part. I bought this recently (goes in and out of stock) for the powerstation I had for my 8800.

The powerstation works great. I don't use the battery charger compartment, but I do charge my old HS 655 with it.

Yeah, the powerstation should be there on the website too.

If you get the powerstation the battery charger compartment comes off, but the whole thing's not as compact as the charging pod. I have one of those for my 8220 and it's pretty small.

[one followup. back and forth below is with a tech in our firm. i find that if i connect USB from laptop into back of charing pod, charging works but my Desktop Manager functions (eg, no forwarding of e-mail messages to handheld while connected) do NOT work. instead, i have to basically plug the USB from laptop directly into the bold and use the pod MERELY as a stand. does anyone have good experience with, and can you direct me to, a charging pod that would also support Desktop Manager functions, without having to connect and unconnect USB to/from handheld every day/night? thx]

sorry, i would have responded immediately had i known i had brainlessly supplied you inadequate information! the picture looks correct. on the bottom of the charging base i see:

RIM P/N HDW- 16216-001
MODEL: MHP- 4301

(then some voltage stuff and made in china.)

still, i bet the answer will be the same. ...

Yes, I did get it. From your order info in that message, it gives the description, and Amazon order number, but not an actual part number to confirm I'm looking at the correct item. It looks like it was delivered through bargaincell.com. I've looked at that site, and there are a couple of charging pods listed. Based on your order, it looks like you paid $15 for the pod. Based on that, I think I'm looking at the correct item:

Blackberry 9000 Bold Smartphone OEM Original Charing Desktop Cradle Pod - ASY-14396-003 | BargainCell

If that's the case, I don't see any indication that this model should also allow synching while attached. I searched google on the term "oem blackberry bold desktop charging pod 9000". There were lots of hits. Some of the entries do refer to also synching while connected, but the one above does not reference that.

sure wish they'd fix this some day!

by the way, can you confirm i sent you the charging pod info? i'm not trying to rush any response on the question, just wanted to be sure you have the info because i don't recall hearing back from you since (i think) i sent it
