Default Latest OS: 9500 4.7.0.203 / 4.7.0.148 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry® Storm(TM) smartphone
from Vodafone Australia

(This is for the 9500 only not the 9530.)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.203 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.7.0.203
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.7.0.148
  • Software Platform: 4.0.0.181
  • File name: 9500_omadrmEFIGS_Dutch_PBr4.7.0_rel203_PL4.0.0.181 _A4.7.0.148_Vodafone_Australia_and_Fiji.exe
  • File size: 106.96MB
Download the OS file here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...19656875EE557C

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9500:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For previous version:

Thanks, Bolin

just installed it and so far so good. i did get a app error 523 i am using BEEJIVE beta for the storm. but i think it crashed because i did not have the tcp/ip setting in yet and i launched it. so when i told it to shut down got the white screen with the error. also the lock on the screen when pressing other buttons it wont unlock so that s working good. i will also run a test and see how the battery will hold up .

ok just a quick update i did notice that the battery life goes down little faster. i am insthe process of downgradeing to an older OS. the .78 was running fine on the 9500 vodafone. and i really did not see a reason why to upgrade i will test out the .78 more and see how it stands next to the .148 but the battery life is def going down alot quicker. at 7 am my batter is 100% 3pm the battery is 20% and only ran beejive. i dont think beejive kills the battery can someone confirm this

Default What Improvements Are In the Storm Upgrade 4.7.0.148?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the Blackberry. Just did the software upgrade today. Is there a website that explains in a point by point way what's new with the upgrade? Or could someone take time to explain it here? It'd be a big help to know what the new upgrade does. Thanks in advance!

Bill

Default Alarm Problem

I don't know if is an issue of this release or if it is a Storm problem but the alarm sounds 5minutes after the set time; for instance if I set it to 7:00am it turns on at 7:05am. Anyone having this issue?

Hm.. Going from landscape to portrait is a little slow, while going from potrait to landscape isnt..

The battery life is 10-15% better.. Last day i was at 60% while im usually at 30%-40%..

Another "bug" ive found is that you can edit a entry in the calendar after you've added it.. You ahve to delete it and add it again..

Hm, bad typo in the previous post.. What i meant was that when you add a entry into the calendar, and if you want to edit it later, you have to delete the appointment, and then add a entry again.. I dont know if this is theme-related or not..

I've heard the complaints about battery life but I'm not so sure I believe it. The new OS keeps the screen from coming on due to inadvertent bumps. That alone saves battery life.
