Default Fix for Bluetooth connection prompt

Please Login to Remove!

Note: This is not a fix for connection problems - only for the annoying prompt.

This is a temporary fix for the annoying Bluetooth "Are you sure you want to connect to this device" prompt. It is a simple script written using AutoIt that runs in the background and detects the prompt. Once detected, it sends the "OK" control to it and thus closes it.

The prompt does show on the screen for a split second and may change the focus of your currently running application, but at least it gets auto-OK'ed.

I apologize for the annoying download link/location, but I do not have access to my own webspace to publish this. If someone wishes to upload it to their own location and post a mirror, you are welcome to do so.

BBBT.zip

Extract the exe anywhere you would like, and either run it manually, or put it into the Start Menu startup folder. I hope this helps until RIM decides to fix this new 'feature' that was added to the desktop manager.

Can't you just select YES to the Trusted Setting under your bluetooth pairing configuration for that connection? When I do that, I never get asked if I want to connect to the device each time. Since it is a trusted device, it automatically connects.

It's already selected for me, and I get prompted anyway. There was a long thread about the newest version of desktop manager causing this. I don't know if it's caused by a limited combination of drivers and application versions or something else.

It doesn't seem to be a very wide-spread problem as I've only seen a handful of people getting the dialog, so I wrote the script until I or someone else can figure out a real solution.
