OK, so i hooked up my email with the curve, both the blackberry email, and my personal email. The problem is I wont stop receiving emails they are like instant. I know BB has the Push technology, and that is the whole point! but is there some way I can sort of turn "on" or "off" the email receiving at my own will? I used to have the HTC TOUCH with telus, and with that phone you CAN turn it "on" or "off" to receive email when ever your want?

You answered your own question.
Mail is pushed to your device. You don't pull it at will.

I am not sure but: I think the gmail application (for reading gmail e-mails) is pull based. So you could use that and just turn off all notifications for push e-mail.

On BlackBerrys with a BB Data Plan and integrated email accts there's only two things to remember:
1. You cannot decide when to receive emails
2. You can decide what to get (read: filters)

Your best bet is to set a profile like "Phone Only" so that you do not get notified of new emails.The emails will still be delivered to yuor device but they will be delivered without any notification.
