I did a search and nothing came up, so here goes. I have been downloading mp3s (that I made myself) from Coolservice. Its great when it works (which it is right now). However, when I upload them to their server they change the name to a #. When it downloads back to the phone it is no longer the name but the number. Can this be changed once on the BB?

that wasn't my question. I use cool service fine. My question was can you change the id to a name on the phone. Where in your link did it say that? I don't think you read very well.

What i'm saying is, you probably can't.....so maybe what you want to do is switch to a service that is more user-friendly. or perhaps do like that thread says and just upload to gmail and download to your BB.
Just a thought

its not difficult. It is just hard to remember what song is what when it shows as a number instead of the name of the song.

Once they are on the BB you can't change the name, but you can when saving during the download. Just select (Left shift <NUM key> and roll the trackwheel) the portion you want to change and type over it. Then save.

Your only option for the ones already onb the BB is to delete, redownload, rename and save.

rcbjr, i just wanted to thank you ... I saved a file and was able to rename it back to the name from the # that coolservice assigned it. It worked beautifully. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
