My wife and I recently both got T Mobile 8320s. Yesterday both just quit ringing. All calls go to voicemail. We have tried removing the battery for 30 sec, but no change. Repeatedly trying to edit profiles likewise did not work.

How to we make these actually work properly as telephones?

Had we any idea of what a pain in the posterior these things are we would have gone to iPhones!

Believe me, your iPhone would not be so user friendly.

There could be several reasons your BB is not ringing, and it is odd that both quit at the same time, which makes me think it is either a user problem, or a local carrier issue.

Can you call out on the device?
What signal does your BB show in the mainscreen?

If someone calls you, does the screen activate and show you the call is arriving?
Or is it simply that it quit ringing?

If that is the case, back to your profiles. Check your active profile to make certain under Phone, it is not on mute in either IN or OUT of holster.

Thanks for replying. Whatever the problem was, T Mobile had to remotely fix it.

Friends have iPhones, so we are familiar with them. If we could get them without AT&T, we would have. The BB is the least intuitive and most USER UNFRIENDLY device either of us have ever used. Neither of us would buy one again, and we certainly would never recommend them!

As with ANYthing new, there is a learning curve. Try getting a Windows Mobile user on an iPhone and listen to him squeal! Blackberrys are rock-solid, user-friendly (and I'm a 20 year Mac user), and über-productive. If your focus is multimedia and you bought a Blackberry because it "looks cool and corporate", or because it's the latest celebrity bling, you're going to be disappointed. But if communication is your focus, and ESPECIAlly if you're in a corporate environment, Blackberry has no equal.

Funny, there are more people it seems who have BBs than iphones.

It is amazing what a closed mind can lead to.

Since TMo had to "remotely fix it" it was not a BlackBerry issue, but as a suspected, a carrier problem. TMo cannot remotely invade your BB OS and fix things.

That's why I moved from T-Mobile to Sprint. I got tired of service problems.

Sprint does have better coverage in many areas. I hope you don't mean customer service. Because theirs STINKS
