unlocking the Z10
Please Login to Remove!
I purchase my Z10 at retail price (full price, no contract) and now AT&T says they do not have the codes to unlock it, they told me to talk to blackberry (F myself I guess is what they meant)
has anyone being able to unlock their phone?

Totally disagree with that statement. Lots of areas in the Northeast and the South where T-Mo is non-existant.
T-Mo is cheap for a reason, they need subscribers.

Re: unlocking the Z10
For what it is worth, my entire family and I recently switched from T-Mobile to AT&T Wireless. Monthly cost for the family was the same, coverage, where we live, is much better. Phone selection (at the time and now) favors AT&T.
Our company is moving off of T-Mobile also. Lack of coverage, dropped calls and general customer dissatisfaction are the reasons.
I can tell you ever dead spot T-Mobile has around me for 50 miles. I drive through a lot of them daily. Cost means nothing if the calls are dropped :(

Re: unlocking the Z10
Each carrier has coverage maps on their website - you can look and compare. When I compare the coverage maps for my area online VZW has the best, next AT&T and T-Mo has the least.

Re: unlocking the Z10
I had to come back to ATT
My in-laws live in a rural area close to the florida-georgia line on I-75 and we tested tmobile's reception and they do not get any at all so i started thinking about my wife and children having a problem and not being able to call
so i am stuck again with the huge bills

Re: unlocking the Z10
Coverage is the most important part of the decision.
Having a great cheap plan with no coverage is worthless.

I just got excited about the possibility of paying $120 a month instead of $210 for my two lines.

Or you could have no cell phone at all and save all the money. Life is about choices.

Re: unlocking the Z10
Not quite sure how your up to over $200 per month. The ATT family plan is $119 for unlimited calls.
unlimited messaging adds another $30.00. If your using your cell for all data then you may look at your usage and see if a higher plan will help. If you exceed the package data limit, most carriers make a lot of money on you. Either way you should call ATT and discuss the cost. DO NOT go to a vendor store, Go to a company store and "suggest" the competition is lower and ask them what is available. Chances are your on the wrong individual plans and need a family plan.

That's fantastic, but it has nothing to do with this thread.

if you pay $119 that means you don't have a data plan. I do want a data plan for a blackberry and for an iphone, on the iphone add text messages, let me know how much that adds up to.
