To my knowledge no one has mentioned any experience with reception issues on the 8900. I live in a fringe area without 3G, am presently using a 8320 on TMO and I would be interested in any comparisons wrt RF, calls dropping, going to voicemail, call quality, etc. All of the other software and hardware features of the 8900 are really neat but if its reception is not at least as good as my 8320 I can't consider it.

hmmm 8900 is not 3G so you dont have to worry about that

with the 8900 but lets just say, i work in a basement, with my 8820 i would get 1 maybe 2 now with the 8900 i get 3-4 bars easily

Do you have info as to what signal level you were getting with your 8820 and now what you get with your 8900? Thanks.

no the 8820 is gone now so i cant get a reading on the dBm

I wound up with a 8900 and that has been my experience too. There has been no difference between my 8320 and my 8900. Thanks for the response.

I live in an area that great really crappy coverage. Had an 8300 that dropped the odd call and generally had pretty bad reception, then an HTC Touch Pro that was virtually unusable. The 8900, however, has never dropped a call, sounds great and generally has given me zero in the way of issues. I actually purchased it because I thought the UMA feature would allow me to actually use my cell in my house, but I have found that although the UMA works great, I don't actually need it because the GSM reception is so good on the 8900.

I've had the same experience. The reception on the 8900 has been excellent.
