Default Storm wont boost, nor charge..

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I recently had some dramas with my previous storm, and have been sent a new replacement phone. I first charged the phone with no problems.

Yesterday the phone when dead, i began charging it through the USB port, when i returned to the computer, the there was an empty battery symbol with a red x through it on the screen. Now this symbol will not go away..

I have removed the battery, changed latops, but the situation remains the same..

The computer recognises the blackberry, desktop manager recognises the blackberry, however claims it cannot communicate with the connected device.

I have attempted to update all possible software with no change to the situation.

Suggestions?

It might that software doesn't recognize the battery.
or you damaged the battery.
Try software reload using loader.exe
first with battery and then if not working without the battery. But be sure to click on advanced before you click on finish in both ways ( check both boxes in advanced windows) and if you trying to load software without battery be sure that you put battery back before you click on finish.
I hope this will work for you

Never charge the batter on computer without blackberry device manager running in background.

Does it charge using a wall charger? Or using another PC?

I assume that you have DM loaded on the laptop - if not you will need to load that as it has the proper drivers to allow the PC to charge the BB via USB.

I think you are right about the phone not recognising the battery. Whether the battery is attached or not, the symbol mentioned earlier remains.

Unfortunatley I do not have a wall charger, however I will get a new battery and wall charger asap.

Thanks for your help..

How come? why is that a "must"?

I used to charge my Pearl Flip plugged to my old Archos AV500 player (it has a USB conection) and it did not have any BB software in it... and I never had a problem...

Please, could you elaborate on this?
Thanks
