Hi, please can someone help me! I have had 3 Blackberry phones in the past and have never come a cross this problem before....

When I go into text message - send or reply there is a very small text box at the bottom of the screen that reads "press R to reply" how do I get rid of this??? I like to view a full page when texting and not a line in a small text box at the bottom of the screen. I have spent 2 days looking through every setting, but can not find how to remove or change this setting.


I will be very grateful of any advise!!

You can't, unless you upgrade to os 5.0.

Hi, I had the same phone only 1 week ago, but lost it and I was able to text on a full screen with that 9000 Bold. What do you mean about a OS 5.0 upgrade? How would I do that? Is there away I can check what apps should be on my phone as I think some are missing!

Go to the post stickied at the top of this forum and instructions to install os 5.0 are in that post. I don't understand what you mean by a full screen to text on.

This is just how the texting works now. You get the "press r to reply" until you press R or put the cursor in the field. Then you type in that field and press send or enter. it works much like BBMessenger now.

Great, thanks for that! After days of playing with the phone I thought I must have the new upgrade version SO 5.5 with the new messenger style texting (on looking into my phone I have V5.0.0.411) My old bold 9000 worked in the old style text format which I liked better, but it looks like I will have to go with the new change to Blackberry.

Thanks again for putting me in the picture as it was driving me mad!!
