I recently had to get my old 7230 back out since my 7105 broke. I went on T-mo's website and realized I never upgraded my 7230 to 4.1, since it was sitting around for the last 2 years. I clicked on the update link, upgrade my desktop software, and then ran the software upgrade that I had DL'd. It seemed to run properly, but when desktop manager booted back up, it just synced everything, and the app loader never opened to upgrade the software. Running the app loader didn't help either.

I've tried uninstalling 4.1 and even uninstalled the desktop manager, and I went into add/remove programs and removed 4.1 for the 7100 as well just in case. Nothing helps. Anyone have any ideas?

Locate and delete VENDOR.XML from you PCs C: drive.
Then restart Desktop Manager

I had seen that being mentioned in the threads about this, but I thought that was if I was trying to install 4.1 before T-mobile actually came out with their own version (back when people were trying to install the Korean version of 4.1 or something along those lines)

Nope; if you delete it I bet Desktop Manager will see the new OS handheld software and load it to the BB.

Ah, that probably WOULD work, if I wasn't an idiot and I didn't DL the software for the 7290 instead of the 7230! T-mo only has 4.0 on the 7230, so maybe 4.1 can't run on it after all. Thanks for the help though!

Yep - the 7290 code will not load onto a 7230. With or without VENDOR.XML...
