Question swivel case like the 87xx & 72xxx

Please Login to Remove!

Are there any cases similar to the 87xx or the 72xx where it pops in and simply pops out.. i dont know how i would do without this type of case before i decide to get this curve or not...

If now what is the closest case that does the same as the old plastic swivel cases

thanks

I used to like the plastic OEM case that came with my 8700g. I know use RIMS OEM lambskin case that has a latch on top and a magnet. The magnet and latch are strong enough to keep the unit secure, and it won't come out even if the unit is turned upsidedown. The other great thing is if I just pull my BlackBerry the latch opens by itself. That way I don't have to unlatch it and then pull the BlackBerry out.

Here is a link to the one I use: Amazon.com: RIM BlackBerry 8700 8700c 8700g 8703e BLACK Lambskin Leather Holster Case with Swivel Belt Clip BLACK: Electronics

I said all that just to let you know that you can get something else for the Curve, and it may be able to just pop out like you like it, even if it has a latch or something.

thanks for the link.. so i assume with this one you put your finger on the top edge of the 8300 and it will pop the strap without too much effort?

i have the leather case for the 7290 and when its in there its in there pretty tight then again mine is new and barely used...

i assume this link for the 8700 case you have works on the 8300 even though the 8300 is slimmer? i just wish someone made a case that allowd you to pop it in and out easliy without having to look down at the holster or moving a strap to the side when putting it back in...

Actually, I think the case I have is a little to big for the 8300. But I believe there are other cases other there that may be similar to this one, that is why I gave the link. I, too, initially did not want a latch at the top of my case because I thought I would have to unlatch it first and then pull my unit out. It is not the case with the case I use now.

I am going to look around and see if I find something similar to the one I use for the 8300 model.

Take a look at this thread:

It's probably the closest thing you'll find to what you want.

I too, wanted the convenience of the leather holster my 7290 had. I have the OEM RIM holster as described above, but I don't like having to remember to pull the flap up to reholster. One day, I will forget and let go of my Curve, sending it to an LCD cracking concrete surface below.

I've also tried a sleeve holster (from eBay) that works well. The concern is retention, however, as the Curve's straight body doesn't have the friction-fit benefit of an inclined draft-designed case of the 7290.

I found my low-profile solution from Seidio, which offers a holster with minimal obtrusion and excellent retention. Check it out.

yea i saw that seidio post and it looks like that is the closest to the old plastic cases we used... also read your review on it so i take it you like the case ... how does it work compared to the old one hand operation plastic cases.. i dont remember the last time i looked down to see where the holster was when taking it out or putting it back in.. just quick... is this the same when pulling it out even with the clip...

i assume you need to do it slowly if you use one hand to undo the clip then let the bb slowly lean out into your hand making sure it doesnt fall?

how is the one hand operation when pulling it out? i can see putting it in wont be an issue b/c the bottom of the curve goes in first then i suppose the push it towards the clip and it snaps over it...

how about taking it out?
